Conversion table
What each syringe mark contains, for the solution calculated above. Tap a row to use it as the amount to measure.
| Units | Volume | Quantity |

The calculation, step by step
- 1
Concentration
Amount in the vial ÷ solvent volume.
10 mg ÷ 2 mL = 5 mg/mL
- 2
Volume to draw
Amount to measure ÷ concentration.
0,5 mg ÷ 5 mg/mL = 0,1 mL
- 3
Mark on the syringe
Volume × 100 on a U-100 syringe.
0,1 mL × 100 = 10
Good to know
- U-100 refers to the scale, not the size: on a 0.3 mL, 0.5 mL or 1 mL syringe, 10 units always equal 0.1 mL.
- Less solvent gives a more concentrated solution: fewer units for the same amount, but a less precise reading.
- Hormones measured in international units (HGH, FSH, HCG) are calculated in IU: the concentration is then expressed in IU per mL.
- For a blend, the concentration refers to the total mass; the calculator also shows each component.
Frequently asked questions
How much solvent should be added?
The amount set by your method or the batch document. The calculator does not recommend one: it shows the effect of each volume on the concentration and on the syringe reading.
Why does the reading fall between two marks?
The requested amount does not match a whole mark. The calculator shows the closest mark and, where possible, a solvent volume that puts the reading exactly on a mark.
