What is KPV?

KPV corresponds to the last three amino acids of the melanotropic hormone α-MSH (lysine, proline, valine). This short fragment retains part of the studied anti-inflammatory activity of α-MSH, without taking up the entire molecule.

What the research studies

The publications mainly focus on models of inflammation, including in the digestive mucosa, and on keratinocyte cultures. The data remains preclinical. Intended exclusively for the laboratory.

Is KPV a melanotan?

No. It is a tripeptide derived from α-MSH. MT-1 and MT-2 are much longer analogues, studied mainly on pigmentation.
