About R3TA pen
The pen format
The pen contains R3TA already in solution. It avoids the handling of freeze-dried powder and bacteriostatic water. This format is often searched under the names “R3 pen”, “reta pen” or “R3TA pen”.
In solution, a peptide is more sensitive to heat than in powder: the pen should be stored in the refrigerator, between 2 and 8°C, and should not be frozen.
A triple agonist
R3TA is a synthetic peptide that activates three hormonal receptors at the same time: those for GLP-1, GIP and glucagon. It is often referred to by the nicknames “R3” or “reta”.
The first molecules in this family targeted only one receptor, that of GLP-1 (this is the case for Sema). Tirz added a second, that of GIP. R3TA combines the glucagon receptor, making it one of the most studied molecules of its generation.
What the research studies
R3TA is the subject of a clinical trial program dedicated to the regulation of metabolism, appetite and weight. The results of the phase 2 trial were published in 2023 in the New England Journal of Medicine.
It does not currently have any marketing authorization in France. The products sold by PeptidLab are intended exclusively for scientific laboratory research.

Frequently asked questions
Vial or pen: what’s the difference?
The vial contains the lyophilized powder peptide, to be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water; it offers the best price per milligram. The pen contains the peptide already in solution, ready to use.
What is the difference between R3TA, Tirz and Sema?
The number of receptors targeted: one for Sema (GLP-1), two for Tirz (GLP-1 and GIP), three for R3TA (GLP-1, GIP and glucagon).
Why is R3TA called “R3”?
“R3” is a common nickname in research communities, referring to its three target receptors. “Reta” is a simple abbreviation, and “ratatouille” a frequent distortion of the name.
Are needles included with the pen?
No. The pen is already in solution, without reconstitution kit. A box of 10 or 100 needles, and alcohol pads, are added to the form.
When will my order be shipped?
