Description

MT-1 (afamelanotide) is a linear analogue of the melanotropic hormone α-MSH. Research mainly studies it via the melanocortin receptor MC1R, involved in the synthesis of melanin. Lyophilized vial of 10 mg, intended exclusively for the laboratory.

About the MT-1

What is MT-1?

MT-1, or afamelanotide, is an analog of α-MSH in which two amino acids are replaced (norleucine in 4, D-phenylalanine in 7). It mainly activates the melanocortin receptor MC1R, involved in the production of eumelanin.

What the research studies

The molecule has been the subject of clinical development under the name afamelanotide in certain photodermatoses. The vials offered here are not this medicine: they are research peptides, without AMM, intended for the laboratory only.
