What is NAD+?

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) is not a peptide: it is a cofactor that cells use to transfer electrons in redox reactions. Without it, the mitochondrion does not produce ATP efficiently.

What the research studies

The work focuses on cellular aging, sirtuins (NAD+-dependent enzymes), PARP (DNA repair) and energy metabolism. NAD+ levels decline with age in several tissues, motivating an extensive literature—still largely preclinical for exogenous intakes. Research product, not a food supplement sold here as such.
